Deep Blue

Mauritius | 40° alc | 70 cl

Your Deep Blue Edition bottle has been placed for 6 months in underwater cellar at 60m depth off the Ushant island, Brittany, France

The rum has then been ageing under water in almost total darkness, at a constant temperature (11-13 ° C all year round)
with a maximum of hygrometry, the absence of oxygen and a pressure of 7 bars (seven times the atmospheric pressure).
This rum aged in great depth differentiates itself from the other rums aged in cellars by demonstrating clean and remarkable sensory and chemical characteristics: more aromatic freshness and fruitiness, more balance and roundness, less acidity, better preservation of many properties.

This aging method offers the Emperor Rum brand an additional opportunity to distinguish our production in a unique and exclusive way. The bottle itself, covered with marine concretions, becomes particularly recognizable and helps to tell a fascinating story full of emotions, the story of the rum and the sea together.

Lookout Beverages propose 2 types of Deep Blue Emperor rums, CHÂTEAU PAPE CLÉMENT & PALO CORTADO.

'CHÂTEAU PAPE CLÉMENT'

Deep Blue Edition was placed in an underwater cellar at a depth of 60 metres for 6 months off the island of Ouessant in Brittany. Prior to immersion, this edition was finished in oak barrels that were used to produce the complex and velvety wines of the Grand Cru Classé Château Pape Clément (Bordeaux). The result is an extraordinarily rich, unique tannin and exceptional smoothness, complemented by warm, spicy notes.

Taste

Warm toffee and caramel flavours at the beginning. Then floral notes of vanilla and apple blossom and ending with leather notes. The texture is rich with notes of dried red fruit and mature red wine.

Nose

The nose is dry at first, with floral notes before giving way to more sustained notes of vanilla and caramel. A hint of ageing in red wine barrels also appears.

Colour

Light gold.

'PALO CORTADO'

Deep Blue Edition was placed in an underwater cellar at a depth of 60 metres for 6 months off the island of Ouessant in Brittany. Prior to immersion, the product passes through barrels of Palo Cortado, where it ages for six months. An elegant and refined experience with subtle notes of vanilla, caramelised fruit and sherry for perfect taste and balance.

Taste

Notes of dates and lightly burnt brown sugar. The mid-palate arrives with an expression of candied fruit close to mango and peach, giving way to a cake dough finish enhanced by an expression of old oak.

Nose

Dry and intense, with hints of ripe mango and white flowers. Richer notes of honey and oak wood.

Colour

Shiny copper.
